DEFEX, en liquidación
DEFEX S.A. SME EN LIQUIDACIÓN is a company y in which SEPI owns 51% of its capital, while private partners hold the remaining 49%. DEFEX had as its corporate goal the promotion and export of Spanish goods and services. Currently, it is under liquidation proceedings.
In keeping with the proposal submitted by the Ministry of Defense, SEPI’s Board of Directors, in its regular meeting on April 28th, 2017, resolved to request to the Council of Ministers approval for DEFEX’ voluntary liquidation.
The decision was taken after analyzing the situation of the company and stating its problems for operating in the market as a result of the loss of standing suffered and the interim relief applied in the court proceedings promoted by Juzgado Central de Instrucción n. 5 of the Audiencia Nacional.
The Council of Ministers resolved, on September 22nd, 2017, its dissolution and liquidation. Then, DEFEX’ General Meeting of Shareholders agreed on October 10th, 2017 to dissolve the company, opening a liquidation period, after the dismissal of its Board of Directors and the appointment of its liquidation administrators.
On October 8th, 2019 and through a court order issued by the commercial court no. 7 of Madrid, was established the voluntary bankruptcy and the appointment of the trustee.
