The manufacturer of nuclear equipment Equipos Nucleares, S.A. (ENSA) has been recently awarded a contract for the supply of a spent fuel cask, the ENUN 24P. This contract represents a new milestone for the Company since, for the first time, it will supply a cask on its own to the international market.
Grupo SEPI earned a net income of 488.59 M€ in the consolidated results attributed to the holding company during the first half-year of 2013, well above the 22.62 M€ recorded during the same period of 2012, mostly due to the capital gain obtained from the sale of 1.15% of EADS.
During the presentation ceremony of the book “Patrimonio del Mercurio” edited by MAYASA, Mr. Ramón Aguirre said that the conversations which are underway with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment and with the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness for the creation of a center for the research and treatment of the mercury surpluses and its waste products, which will entail a great technological advance for the Company and a new horizon of progress for Minas de Almadén.
During this meeting, Mr. Ramón Aguirre informed Mr. José Antonio Monago about the important role played by Grupo SEPI in Extremadura and the impact which its investments and operations have on the economy of this region. Also, the President of Extremadura, together with the Head of the Agriculture department, held another meeting with the Chairpersons of SEPI and CETARSA.
