Mr. Javier Dies, a member of the Nuclear Safety Board (CSN) pays a visit to ENUSA’s facilities in Salamanca
Mr. Javier Dies, Director of the Nuclear Safety Board (CSN) has met with representatives from ENUSA INDUSTRIAS AVANZADAS, S.A. for having a close knowledge about the activities which this company carries out at its facilities in the province of Salamanca.
Yesterday Thursday he visited the Center at Saelices el Chico, in Ciudad Rodrigo, where the Chief Financial Officer and director for Shareholdings, Mr. Juan Artieda, and the person in charge of the Center, Mr. Javier Ruiz, showed to the Director the restoration and surveillance works which are being carried out at the former mining facilities. This is one of the biggest environmental recovery works which are taking place at a mine in Spain, and one of the biggest in the European Union, with an envisaged budget of 150 M€.
The visit was completed this morning at the fuel items factory which ENUSA has in Juzbado. During the day, ENUSA’s Chairman, Mr. José Luis González, and the factory’s head, Mr. Javier Montes, made a presentation about the company and showed him the facilities. The Director of the regulating agency highlighted during his visit that “the Juzbado factory is one of the most innovative in Europe, and stands out as an example of the pellets automated inspection system”.
In its last full meeting on June 1st, the CSN submitted a positive report about the renewal of the authorization for the operation and production of ENUSA’s facility.
This is the first time that Mr. Dies visits ENUSA’s facilities, and he showed a great interest and satisfaction for having a first-hand knowledge about the company’s activity. The visit made by ENUSA’s Director takes place within the framework of the program of visits which he is making to nuclear facilities in Spain.
ENUSA and Grupo SEPI
ENUSA belongs to Grupo SEPI, a corporate holding which includes a total of 16 state-owned companies in which it has direct, majority shareholding participations, with a workforce of around 73,000 professionals in 2014; the Spanish state-owned television and radio corporation, Corporación Radiotelevisión Española, which is attached to SEPI, and one public foundation. Equally, SEPI has direct minority shareholdings in a further ten companies, and indirect shareholdings in more than one hundred companies.
