The Nuclear Security Council submits a favorable opinion about the renewal of the authorization for ENUSA’s factory
The Nuclear Security Council (CSN) has authorized the renovation of the licenses for the operation and manufacture at the factory for fuel items which ENUSA has in Juzbado (Salamanca), which were about the terminate in July 2016, for a further 10 years.
At the full assembly of the Council which took place this Wednesday the renewal of the authorization for operating and manufacturing requested by ENUSA to the Ministry for Industry, Energy, and Tourism was positively assessed, request which was submitted by the Ministry to the CSN on July 29th, 2015.
The CSN evaluated the assessment of the issues regarding the Security Periodical Review (RPS), the current situation of the different requirements and Supplementary Technical Orders (ITC) set at the factory when the currently in force authorizations were granted, and the ITC and the Technical Orders (IT) which have been issued since the grant. Equally, the CSN has assessed the results of the factory’s Overview and Follow-Up System.
Besides the authorization for operating, the full assembly of the Council of the CSN has also submitted a favorable opinion about the renewal of the physical protection authorization and the review of Juzbado’s physical protection plan.
ENUSA and Grupo SEPI
ENUSA belongs to Grupo SEPI, a corporate holding which includes a total of 16 state-owned companies in which it has direct, majority shareholding participations, with a workforce of around 73,000 professionals in 2014; the Spanish state-owned television and radio corporation, Corporación Radiotelevisión Española, which is attached to SEPI, and one public foundation. Equally, SEPI has direct minority shareholdings in a further ten companies, and indirect shareholdings in more than one hundred companies.
