MAYASA: The Parque Minero de Almadén takes part in FITUR 2016
Almadén Mining Park (MAYASA) has taken part, in the capacity of joint exhibitor, in the Tourism Fair FITUR-2016, which took place from January 20th to 24th in Madrid. This experience was carried out through the use of a specific stand in the area “Almadén, World Heritage Site”, which was shared with Almadén’s town council.
MAYASA also participated in the presentation of the European Routes of Marble which took place on Friday 22nd at TURESPAÑA’s stand, made within the framework of the European Project Extraexpo: From Extraction to Exhibition.
This new transnational tourist itinerary is based on the cultural and industrial heritage which is shared by the five territories through which it goes through, all of them renowned for their prestigious marble:
The event was attended by the General Undersecretary for Marketing Abroad from the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Tourism, the President of the Commonwealth of Municipalities Valle del Almanzora, Macael’s Mayor, by the Director-General for Tourism in the regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, as well as by the Chairman and the Director for Industrial Activities of Minas de Almadén.
MAYASA and Grupo SEPI
MAYASA belongs to Grupo SEPI, a corporate holding which includes a total of 16 state-owned companies in which it has direct, majority shareholding participations, with a final workforce of around 73,000 professionals in 2014; the Spanish state-owned television and radio corporation, Corporación Radiotelevisión Española, which is attached to SEPI, and one public foundation. Equally, SEPI has direct minority shareholdings in a further ten companies, and indirect shareholdings in more than one hundred companies.
