The grants from Fundación SEPI approach Latin-American countries

06/05/2015 - Madrid
Press release SEPI

The next Ibero-American Conference of Heads of State and Government (2016, Colombia) will include the model of the grants from Fundación SEPI among its activities. Education is one of the main axis of work of the Ibero-American Secretary-General (SEGIB).

In a meeting held by the Ibero-American Secretary-General, Ms. Rebeca Grynspan, with SEPI’s Chairman, Mr. Ramón Aguirre; SEPI’s Vice President, Mr. Federico Ferrer; and with the Director-General of Fundación SEPI, Mr. Ángel Díaz Chao, SEGIB was able to have a first-hand knowledge about the working of the model of grants which Fundación SEPI offers every year.

Mr. Aguirre expressed his satisfaction by the fact that such a prestigious international organization as the SEGIB has noticed the singularity of the grant program in order to bring it to the attention of the Ibero-American Summit.

Furthermore, those in charge of the state-owned industrial holding company took advantage of the meeting for informing Ms. Grynspan about their total willingness to collaborate with the Ibero-American Secretary-General’s Office (SEGIB) in order to make it available the knowledge and the know-how of Fundación SEPI, so that they can contribute the academic nature, the human factor and the technological vision which define its experience in the grant program, thus extrapolating it to the activities, programs and projects of the Ibero-American Summit. This action would be implemented through companies with an international dimension, such as for instance, the news agency Agencia EFE.

In this sense, it has been agreed to include the grant model into the Ibero-American Secretary-General’s Office with the advice of Fundación SEPI. Such agreement will be concluded in the next weeks in the meeting which will be convened by the above mentioned Secretary-General in Colombia, the venue of the next Ibero-American Summit.
