SEPI’s Chairman announces that the Government will defend before Europe the general interests, both those of Correos and of all Spaniards in the provision of the Universal Postal Service
The Chairman of the state-owned industrial holding company Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales (SEPI), Mr. Ramón Aguirre, stated that the corporate state-owned holding will offer its full and loyal collaboration to the European authorities, and its unanimous and its unwavering defense to Spain’s general interests against the accusations which are being made against the Spanish State before the European Commission for the provision of the Universal Postal Service.
In answer to the questions made by the Parliamentarian groups, Mr. Aguirre pointed out that the Government is working in the defense before Europe the general interests, not only those of the Company, but also those of all Spaniards for the provision of a fully-guaranteed Universal Postal Service.
With regard to the bargaining process of the new collective agreement, SEPI’s Chairman recalled that the termination of CORREOS’ third collective agreement took place on December 31st of last year, and thus, currently it is being negotiated. According to Mr. Aguirre, 'the Bargaining Committee was set up on February 26th, 2014, and on September 18th took place the second meeting of this Bargaining Committee; this lead us to think that shortly will be submitted the bargaining schedule. We have the outmost interest and are will take every step for providing a positive answer to the Company’s interests and to those of its workers, as could not be otherwise ', concluded.
