EMGRISA (Grupo ENUSA) participa en el Congreso Dioxin Madrid 2014
EMGRISA (Grupo ENUSA) took part in the Dioxin Madrid 2014 (34th International Symposium on Halogenated Persistent Organic Pollutants), the most important international symposium in the field of the persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and which took place in Madrid from August 31st to September 5th, with the attendance of more than 800 delegates. The Symposium was organized by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). POPs are regulated at world level by the Stockholm Convention which was ratified by Spain in 2004.
EMGRISA’s participation at the Dioxin Madrid 2014 is the result of its activity and experience within the POPs field, and is the continuation of previous interventions in a number of international forums, such as the 11th and 12th HCH & Pesticides Forum in Azerbaijan (2011) and in Ukraine (2013), respectively, and in the 14th EuCheMS International Conference on Chemistry and the Environment at Barcelona 2013.
This time, EMGRISA’s work involved preparing a paper and presenting it about the environmental problems involving a dump (Sardas, Huesca) and specifically, about the presence of dioxins at the facility. This work has been carried out in collaboration with technicians from the regional Government of Aragón and international specialists.
