Valliant Blue continues with his successful streak, winning in the Premio San Isidro at HZ
San Isidro Day in Madrid took place today May 15th, at HIPÓDROMO DE LA ZARZUELA with five very attractive horse races. The most important was the Premio San Isidro, in which Valliant Blue imposed himself once again, making it very clear that he is a great sprinter and that he is in top form at the moment. The horse from the stable Cuadra Agrado achieved his fourth victory this year 2014 under the training of Eduardo Buzón and again, splendidly rode by Borja Fayos, who knew how to keep him on the second lane, fighting the last 200 meters beside Lolita Pluma, reaching the finish line first with a one length advantage.
After them came Acamante, also one length behind. In this contest did not participate Dubai Spring, which withdrew before the race, nor did Otro Gintonic, who refused getting into the starting gates.
The victory of “Vamos España” in Premio Precoz of the first race was just perfect. The filly from the stable Cuadra Odisea, after a good second place in her debut in Premio Primer Paso, today achieved her first victory, giving her trainer Alberto Carrasco, his first victory as the responsible of all the stable’s horses.
José Luis Borrego, who was again her jockey, drove her by the running rails and with strength and very seriously, she achieved the first place, two lengths and a half ahead of Corazón Canarias, who had some difficulty getting into the starting gates. The third, almost three lengths behind, was the debutant Mythical Clover.
Afterwards took place the Premio Héctor Licudi, which was won by Calamargo, trained by Thiago Martins and rode by the gentleman Diego Sarabia. After being in the last place all the race, the horse from the stable Cuadra Jimena began to progress on the home straight on the running rails, until he managed to win very comfortably, getting ahead of Lepic, on the outside, by two lengths. Three lengths behind Betty arrived third.
And in the third race it was the turn for one of the great contest which counts for the World Championship of the Fregenti, in Premio Andrés Ramos Covarrubias, in which the triumph went to the French gentleman Maxime Denuault riding the favorite Brindos.
From start to finish the first place went to the horse trained by Guillermo Arizcorreta, which obtained the fifth victory in his record, arriving at the head of the pack on the home straight and comfortably arriving to the finish line as the winner, but Bear Prince attacked, arriving second less than one length behind, while the third place went to Mediterráneo, who arrived one and a half length behind.
The Lototurf race, the prize Santiago Galaz, had as its winner Honeymoon Beach, trained by Enrique León and rode by her breeder and owner, Juan Ignacio Escario, with whom it had already won in her previous race. This time this three-year old filly won very easily, as 300 meters before the finish line made a strong sprint, arriving very comfortably, and leaving the impression that she can still make some further progression. Almost three lengths behind came Kuai, and two further lengths behind, Emperors Song.
Almost two thousand persons went to HZ, leaving a 60,428 € taking at the box offices. The winning combination for today Thursday May 15th Quíntuple Plus is made up by the following numbers: 2 – 5 – 1 – 5 – 1 – 5.
Next Sunday May 18th there will be a new race meeting, in which the Premio Teresa will be the most important race in the evening; the first race will begin at 04:30 pm.
