ENRESA’s technological center Mestral receives its visitor no. 60,000
The technological center Mestral received today its visitor no. 60,000, a landmark which takes place 16 years after ENRESA opened the doors of this facility, which informs about the dismantling activities in the former nuclear power plant Vandellòs 1.
Mr. Jordi Sans, a high-school student from Collegi Turó was the protagonist of this symbolic visit, in which he received a tablet. The lucky visitor no. 60,000 of Centro Tecnológico Mestral received the gift from ENRESA with surprise and happiness from the hands of the facility’s Manager, Mr. Carlos Pérez Estévez. Furthermore, his school was also awarded material for furnishing its library.
El espacio de información de Vandellòs
The informative area at Vandellòs started its divulgation work a little before ENRESA began the nuclear power plant’s dismantling work, with the goal of making known to the nearest municipalities how the work had been programmed.
This was a pioneering initiative in Spain and in the rest of the world, since until then no industrial-sized nuclear power plant had been dismantled.
