INFORMATION ABOUT PRESUR
PRESUR is a mining company located on Minas de Cala - Huelva - Spain. It is situated 90 kilometers from Seville's port and 150 kilometers from Huelva´s port, and its activity is the extraction and treatment/concentration of iron ore.
Activity of the company in year 2009:
PRESUR has continued progressing in its liquidation process began in 2006, and has commercialized the last inventories of its products. The envisaged early retirements have taken place through compulsory special redundancy procedures, and as a result, the company currently has no workforce.
As for the restoration work on the mining facilities in order to comply with the environmental legislation, in 2009 work has continued on the surveillance and control of slopes, watercourses and roads. These surveillance activities have entailed 268 thousand Euros in expenses.
In financial terms, the amounts generated by the sale of 1,015 Tons of magnetite, 8,206 Tons of aggregates and around 70 Tons of other materials has generated an income of 64,000 Euros, which was not enough for covering the expenses for the restoration and the commitments assumed with the pensioners, resulting in a net loss of 2.7 Million Euros.
