INFORMATION ABOUT ALIMENTOS Y ACEITES

Alimentos y Aceites S.A. is the company to which belonged, until their privatization in May 2002, Coosur and Olcesa, companies active in the olive oil and sunflower oil, respectively. After some years during which the sector has undergone a deep rationalization process, SEPI began the joint privatization of Coosur and Olcesa through a tender.

SEPI took the decision to sell its stake in Coosur (89.365%) and in Olcesa (100%) to the consortium leaded by Aceites del Sur, in which also participate the Andalusian cooperative oil sector, through JaénCoop, and the rural savings bank of Jaén, for an amount of 7.007 Million Euros.

Activity of the company year 2009:

The strong revalorization experienced by EBRO PULEVA's shares in 2009 in the secondary market, which is part of the IBEX 35, as it went from 9.8 Euros per share at the start of the year to 14.53 Euros per share at the end, together with the extraordinary dividend distributed by decision of the Board of Directors of this foodstuffs company as a result of the sale of the company Azucarera Ebro, has generated a 48.1 Million Euros increase in the value of the portfolio of ALIMENTOS Y ACEITES, net of its fiscal effect, and at the end of the year it amounted to 178.4 Million Euros.

As a result, ALIMENTOS Y ACEITES has recorded a 9.2 Million Euros profit after taxation, which includes 9.6 Million Euros for the gross dividends in cash and 3 million euros for the shares in kind valued at the reference price on the date of delivery.

On the other hand, it must be mentioned that recently ALIMENTOS Y ACEITES won the remedy of appeal before the Audiencia Provincial de Madrid (County Court of Madrid) against the Grupo Torres, against the defense of res judicata which the Grupo Torres had requested.
