Press release SEPIDES

  • Those interested can find the required information in the Web http://www.sepides.es/fondependencia
  • The Bid for 2010 was closed with the authorization of 11 investment projects, which amounted in aggregate to 23.3 million euros
  • Today begins the term of the bid for enterprises and companies submitting their infrastructure and/or services projects for the System for the Autonomy and Care of Dependent Persons (SAAD), which will be eligible for receiving financial support from the Fund for Dependency Support which was authorized by the Government, and which has been endowed with 17 Million euros in the State Budget for 2011. With this new endowment, the Fund reaches 51 Million euros.

The Council of Ministers in its meeting on July 31st, 2009 authorized the set up of the Fund for Dependency Support created in Act 2/2008, on December 23rd, of the General State Budget for 2009, with the goal of providing support to those enterprises and companies which are engaged in promoting and developing infrastructures and services for the System for the Autonomy and Care of Dependent Persons. The EUR 17M which are endowed to the Fund again in 2011 are supplied by the Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality, and come from the General State Budget.

The Fund's management has been entrusted to the state-owned holding company Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales (SEPI), as a result of the Collaboration Agreement concluded between the Ministry of Economics and Finance, the Ministry of Health and Social Policy, and SEPI itself, which becomes a collaborating entity in the development of the Dependency Act. SEPI, in turn, entrusted its affiliated company SEPIDES the management of this Fund. This company, which is technical tool at the service of the Administration and of SEPI itself, is specialized in entrepreneurial promotion through the analysis and financing of corporate projects, as well as in managing similar funds.

    Bid for 2011

Those interested in taking part in the Bid may find all the required information for the submission of their projects in the following address http://www.sepides.es/fondependencia, which includes the outline of the Business Plan, the outline of the Explanatory Report, and the Application Form, as well as the remaining documentation which must be submitted and further supplementary information.

This Bid is intended for those companies which submit projects for the creation, expansion and/or adaptation of infrastructures and/or services related with the development and the implementation of the System for the Autonomy and Care of Dependent Persons. Its scope includes the infrastructure and service projects in the residential area, in day-care centers, assistance at home, telenursing, accessibility and new technologies applied to personal autonomy and care for dependent persons.

The financial facilities in this third Bid are made up by participative loans and long-term loans, with an interest rate which will be determined on the basis of the project submitted and according to the rates in the financial market at any one time. The criteria for giving priority to the projects will be, inter alia, the financial and technical feasibility and the soundness of the project and of its promoters, its impact on employment, the set up of collaboration agreements with the Administration and the number of subsided places, the multiplying effect of the financing to be granted, and the immediacy in the execution of the project.

The Fund represents a bet in favor of the promotion of productive investment, both public and private, which aims to promote the collaboration of both the public and the private sectors, to inspire confidence among the companies in this industry, to introduce liquidity into the system, and to offer a role to the State as a promoter of the Economy. To that end, the Fund will provide real financial means to the companies for expanding and consolidating their projects, in a market which has a significant growth potential, contributing in this way to the development of the Dependency Act.
