SEPI's commitment with Society shows itself also through the values which mark its actions and its decisions, and which permeate its corporate culture:
An indication of the importance which the companies of the Group give to corporate social responsibility policies is that, in 2012, ENSA created the Department of Human Relationships and Corporate Social Responsibility, and Grupo TRAGSA passed the Group’s Ethical Code, which includes the Company’s commitment with the principles of corporate ethic and transparency.
SEPI assumes the responsibility of providing fair information about its actions, both to the citizens in general and to the different bodies which, by Law, are in charge of performing the control of the economic, financial, parliamentarian and social and employment terms and conditions.
Every financial year, SEPI carries out a Exploit and Capital Budget, which becomes part of the General State Budget. All the accounts of its enterprises and those of SEPI itself are subject to the supervision of the Office of the State Comptroller (IGAE). Besides, the Court of Auditors regularly makes specific reports about the activities of SEPI and its enterprises.
Within the social and employment field, the Interdepartmental Commission on Remunerations and the Commission for the Follow-Up of Collective Bargaining in State-Owned Enterprises supervise the employment and remuneration issues in the collective agreements subscribed by the enterprises of the SEPI Group.
Regarding the control by the Parliament, SEPI's Chairman, either at the request of the Congress or of the Senate, or by his own decision, appears all the times required for explaining the activities of the State-Owned Enterprise or of any of its enterprises.
Equally, SEPI periodically submits to Parliament economic and financial information regarding its own activity, that of the consolidated group and that of its enterprises.
The corporate social activities carried out by Grupo SEPI in 2012 have been focused on promoting the equality of opportunities between women and men, training and risk prevention in the workplace.
The commitment with Society has been directed towards facilitating the transition of young people from formal education into the labor market, the promotion of occupational opportunities of disabled persons, the support of disadvantaged groups and the participation in the development cooperation field.
