A public sector in continuous adaptation
Sociedad Estatal de Participaciones Industriales has its origin in the Instituto Nacional de Industria (INI), whose history has marked Spanish state-owned corporate sector during more than 50 years. The changing economic, legal and social environment, especially after Spain's accession to the European Economic Community, led to the adoption of decisions on economic and industrial policy issues which have affected the structure of our public sector, with the apparition and disappearance of a number of entities, until arriving to the current situation, in which SEPI is the only state-owned corporate group existing.
